The Plimsoll Line is the line where the hull of a ship meets the surface of the water. The original "Plimsoll Mark" was a circle with a horizontal line through it to show the maximum draft of a ship. It also is the line on your good beer drinking glasses that show the glass is full (pour to this line). There is a name for everything.
