Maryland Brewery Treks :: An Invitation to Adventure

trek (noun) : to go on a long and often difficult journey
— The Britannica Dictionary

Along with visiting every state in the USA, I have two to go, visiting every brewery in Maryland is on my bucket list. I have learned that this is a goal for other beer enthusiasts as well. So, I devised a plan to break this journey into bite sized chunks with a a list of Maryland brewery treks.

I used “treks” to describe these adventures because “tours” sounds too formal and organized, and “trails” somehow not appropriate. Treks has an allure of adventure while tours sounds like you're, well, a tourist.

INTRODUCTION

The 25 Maryland Brewery Treks, a sorting of breweries based on relative proximity. Breweries are grouped from three to six locations which could compose a brewery excursion. These include most of the state’s breweries, but due to distances, not all. A special group of brewery “Outliers” have been organized into a separate group. Treks are grouped by regions. Under the Index, users can click on the Trek name to view each of the suggested excursions. Clicking on the individual brewery name will open their website.

I've attempted to optimize each trek to minimize travel times, but as improvements are discovered the treks may be tweaked in the future. Also, by clicking the the brewery trek name, the Google Map navigation will opened and personal adjustments can be made then.

As breweries come and go, the treks will updated. Since starting this project, one brewery has been opened and another closed.
