Scorpion Brewing in Calvert County MD has announced that its last day will be March 17, 2024. Below is the post with the announcement.
Update on the status of Scorpion Brewing Co. from Brian Dailey, CEO. Important Announcement: the last beer poured at the Scorpion Tap Room at 929 Skinners Turn Rd. will be on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, 2024. At that time, we will be closing our doors for good.
This was not an easy decision to make. A change in our building's ownership took place a few years ago and in January 2024, our lease that was negotiated with the previous landlord expired. We were unable to agree on terms with the new landlord, primarily due to a 239% increase in monthly payments.
We founded Scorpion Brewing in February of 2012 and after two years of hard work we opened our doors to the public. We are incredibly proud of what we have built and all that we have accomplished over the years - and to all our customers who have grown with us and followed all the changes that we have made throughout the years, thank you for your amazing support, we couldn't have done it without you.
The interesting spin on this development is that some of Scorpion Brewing's current co-owners have some exciting new business plans of their own at a new location in North Beach. We wish them all the best and thank you all again for your support and friendship from the bottom of our hearts.
